27th MEDITERRANEAN FAIR
From October 10th to 13th, 2024
Manresa, Barcelona.
The Mediterranean Fair of Manresa is a market of artistic proposals that use roots, tradition and popular culture with a creative motor. The Fair has an interdisciplinary character and presents innovative artistic creations inspired by the cultural features of Catalonia and the Mediterranean territories. It has been held annually since 1998 and has become a framework for exchanges between professionals in the sector who sell and buy shows. It is organized by the Mediterranean Traditional Root Show Fair Foundation, which was created in 2006. Both the General Directorate of Popular Culture and Cultural Associations of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the City Council of Manresa are part of this foundation.
Most of the activities of Fira Mediterrània are open to the general public. In fact, the Fair uses a series of very focused scenarios. However, one of the essential pillars on which it is based are the multiple activities reserved for professionals, such as technical conferences, recruitment lottery, cooperation work meetings and presentations. In this sense, together with Fira Tàrrega, the Vic Live Music Market, the Olot Seismograph, the Igualada Exhibition and the Reus Trapezi Fair, it is part of the map of artistic markets of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The Fair is part of the Anna Lindht Foundation, the Coordinator of Performing Arts Fairs of the Spanish State, the Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals, the European Folk Network and the Apropa Cultura programme.

26th MEDITERRANEAN FAIR
From october 5th to 8th, 2023
Manresa, Barcelona.
The 2023 Fira Mediterrània de Manresa was a major cultural event held in Manresa, a city in the Catalonia region of Spain. The event took place from 5 to 8 October 2023. It is one of the most important fairs dedicated to Mediterranean culture and tradition, celebrating local and international performing arts, music, theatre and cultural heritage.
The Fira Mediterrània is known for hosting a wide range of live performances. In 2023, there were numerous shows, performances and exhibitions in various venues in Manresa, including outdoor performances and indoor theatre productions.
Folk and traditional music from various Mediterranean countries was presented. This included performances by Catalan artists as well as groups from other Mediterranean countries, enriching the cultural exchange and diversity of the fair.
The event has long been a platform for international artists, so the 2023 edition included performances by artists based outside of Spain, contributing to a global atmosphere celebrating shared Mediterranean heritage.
The fair also hosted several exhibitions, art installations and workshops that explored Mediterranean identity, history and culture. These interactive elements allowed attendees to engage with the region’s heritage in deeper and more creative ways.
In addition to public performances, Fira Mediterrània is also an important event for artists, producers and cultural professionals to network, collaborate and showcase new works to a wider audience.
The event attracts a diverse audience, including locals, tourists and cultural enthusiasts from across Europe. Manresa itself, with its historic charm and proximity to Barcelona, provides an ideal setting for such a cultural celebration.
As in every edition, there was a thematic focus on Mediterranean culture, but the 2023 fair also paid special attention to new trends and innovations in traditional arts, mixing modern expressions with ancient traditions.
In line with contemporary cultural events, the 2023 fair also emphasized sustainability in cultural production and artistic creation, with some performances and activities highlighting environmental themes.
Over the years, the fair has become a key event for the Mediterranean cultural scene, offering an opportunity for dialogue, exchange and collaboration. For local artists in Catalonia, it serves as a great stage to present new works to both Spanish and international audiences.
The Fira Mediterrània de Manresa 2023 continued its tradition of mixing culture, heritage and contemporary creativity, becoming an important cultural gathering in Catalonia.

25th MEDITERRANEAN FAIR
From September 6th to 10th, 2022
Manresa, Barcelona.
The Mediterranean Fair of Manresa is the strategic fair for artistic proposals that use roots, tradition and popular culture as drivers of creativity.
Fira Mediterrània works with what we call the 360 degrees of the root, starting with the first level, the intangible heritage, going through the popular and traditional culture associations that start from this heritage and work to connect it with society, and ending with the professional sector, the artists whose creations are based on this tradition. At the Fair we give special importance to the exchange, interrelation and intersection of all of them.
It is a multidisciplinary fair, where we propose three major itineraries: one for music, with the Mediterranean stage for world music and folk music that shows new productions on the traditional Catalan stage; one for performing arts, including dance, theatre, circus, street arts and proposals for families, based on intangible heritage and popular and traditional culture; and popular culture and associationism, emphasizing its relationship with the professional artistic sector, taking into account the intangible heritage of the Mediterranean.
